My younger son is an aspiring guitarist. He takes online lessons through Strum Club and has gotten some amazing skills under his belt during the one year since the lessons started. (Get a free online lesson by visiting this link, and be sure to tell them Cameron sent you so he gets one too! 🎸)

He has a Fender Mini Deluxe amp that he uses for more portable play and made a special request for this mini amp belt holster crochet pattern. He drew up a sketch and I promised I’d do my best. I made it while he was gone and when he saw it for the first time he said that I did it “exactly like he wanted”! #momwin 🥇

Slide your favorite belt into this mini amp holster and you’ll be all set for portable play. 🎸🎵

We will start with a small rectangle for the base of the amp holster, then we will work around that rectangle to create a “lip”. Next we will crochet straight up the back and create little chains that will hold the amp in place using buttons. Finally we will fold the top back on itself to sew, creating the sturdy loop for the belt.

It’s even got the spacing along the top taken into account so that the cord of the amp fits directly into the slot left by the chain when attached. Tuck the extra cord into your pocket.

This free amp holster crochet pattern is worked in one piece, with minimal ends to weave in. My favorite!

I did also whip him up a strap, but he says I need to make some modifications to it so I’ll do that before publishing that pattern. If you want the strap, be sure to let me know so I get that kick in the rear to get it published!

Materials:

Dishie (100% cotton)
-approx. 80 yards

Crochet hook in size G/4mm

(2) Buttons (size isn’t super important, but I used 3/4″)

A Fender Deluxe Mini Amp 😉

I’m assuming most mini amps are similar in size, but a few extra rows or minor modifications may be needed if you have a different brand.

Pattern Notes:

Pattern written using US terms.

The chain at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch.

Fasten off leaving long tail for sewing across back edge. Fold โ€œbackโ€ back and sew to the top of row 4 of the “back” across, going through both fabrics. Weave in all ends.

Attach at the top of the “lip” where the back meets the bottom. Sc in each st around entire bottom portion only. This helps to clean up the edges.

Add buttons to front bottom, about 5 stitches in from each corner.
