Sports Team Bucket Hat

My boyfriend is a huge sports fan. He loves football, basketball, and baseball specifically. He also loves anything to do with Kansas City – including the Kansas City Chiefs football team and the Royals baseball team. So this year for his early birthday gift we snuck away to Kansas City for a quick little get away. I was able to snag two great tickets to the Royals game and the whole weekend was amazing.

What I love the most about this bucket hat is the versatility and how quick it works up. I chose my yarn colors that morning, started crocheting it when we left home, and finished it as we sat tailgating before the game. This bucket hat is made using any three colors. We start with White for the top, then add in the accent color of your favorite team, then finish off with the team’s dominant color.

Here’s a version for the Broncos that I made for the grandbaby. Poor thing. It’s not his fault his parents are Broncos fans. Haha!!

If you’re looking for an infant/child size of this Sports Team Bucket Hat stay tuned! That pattern will also be shared in the very near future – also for free!

We have been attending more of the home Wichita State University baseball games because they’re so affordable and it’s fun for the whole family. Where we sit in the stadium we can take our own sandwiches and beverages, saving us a TON on food costs. The only down side is that the area is not shaded. I’ll have to make one of these bucket hats in the team colors for those games as well. When I make that one I’ll use White, then Gold, then Black and when I’m finished I’ll share a photo with you!

  1. This looks to be nice and deep, just the ticket for sun protection during my early morning walks and late afternoon crochet/reading sessions on my (uncovered) deck.
