The Block Party Office Cardi is the perfect thing to keep at the office and wear throughout the work week. This cardigan was designed with the thought in mind to have a neutral, go-to cardigan that can be worn over all kinds of office attire – or out and about on the town in style!
Block Party Office Cardi Crochet Pattern
Do your coworkers keep the office a little too chilly for your liking? Then having an “office cardi” is a must. Does your desk sit directly beneath an air vent? Grab the office cardi!
Available in nine sizes from XS through 5XL, the size inclusive Block Party Office Cardi is the new go-to cardigan for style and comfort. Pair it with jeans for running errands, or heels for date night. Leave it at the office during the week to ward off the chill, and bring it home on the weekend to launder and wear.
For this pattern I am using the NEW Bella Coco Merino from Hobbii. This is a size 2 yarn made of 100% merino wool. It is a thinner size 2 yarn, and light as air. The Z twist of the yarn is ideal for crocheters and lends beautiful stitch definition. See my full review of this NEW yarn here.
For my office cardi I wanted a nice, complimentary color. This peach is just gorgeous! It compliments many other colors that one might wear in a business causal environment, or paired with a simple solid tank as I have here. The color palette of the new Bella Coco Merino yarn from Hobbii is simply delicious! Sarah-Jayne did an excellent job selecting the colors and ensuring that all colorways go with one another.
When I am sitting at my desk, I do not like long sleeves getting in the way of my keyboard. For this reason, instead of always pushing my cuffs up, I decided to make this a 3/4 sleeve with a kimono-style opening. This means that there is zero shaping, with no decreases or additional counting. Love that!
This pattern is worked top-down, raglan style with zero shaping. Once we reach the armhole in the pattern, we can crochet the length of the cardigan to be as short or as long as we want. Keep going for a duster length, or make it shorter for a cropped cardi.
