Simple Tunisian Chevron Throw Blanket Pattern

As you may know, my older son, Caden, has a severe heart defect and has faced an uphill battle his entire life. He has recently been diagnosed with another serious, life-altering condition that I am not quite ready to talk about yet. That being said, this blanket was a great help to me during the hardest parts of the last year or so.

When you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with something major and life changing, it’s easy to get sucked into the mental state of “worst case scenario”. Each stitch of this blanket helped to pull me back to the present. I hope that if you too are going through something difficult, that you can use this pattern as something soothing and grounding to keep your mind off of things, if only for a little while.

For this pattern we are using Herrschners Worsted 3 yarn. I wanted to use these 3oz skeins because each skein makes for a great color block in this blanket. We only need 13 for the entire thing! They are still full-sized skeins and the perfect amount for one 12-row color block per skein. One thing I loved about working with this yarn was that each and every yarn tail was just waiting to be pulled.

The goal of this project is to NOT use your brain. So, let’s make a mindless, gorgeous Tunisian blanket.

Tunisian Chevron is a great way to get comfortable with Tunisian Crochet. Here’s a tutorial for the Tunisian Chevron technique, and there is a VIDEO tutorial if you scroll down to the bottom of the pattern.

Grab the ad-free, printable version of this pattern on Ravelry, Etsy, or right here in the Heart Hook Home Blog Shop. Thank you!
