When I released the Sports Team Bucket Hat pattern last year I had requests for child sizes. So sorry that it has taken this long! Here is the pattern now, just in time for Spring and getting back outdoors. No more sun in your little one’s eyes!
Child Sports Team Bucket Hat
There is nothing I love more than being able to show pride for my favorite teams through crochet. From my love of the Kansas City Chiefs to supporting my sons’ high school, I’ve made quite a few crocheted projects over the years. Remember the Mohawk Beanie? It’s so easy to make in any sports team’s colors and it is so fun to wear.
My oldest is showing his school pride in his Brickhouse Bucket Hat. I love how customizable this hat is and that bucket hat pattern has child sizes too.
Another hat that shows team pride is the Team Spirit Beanie. So easy to mix and match colors and it creates a unique beanie that anyone can wear. This is a great way to stash bust too, since we’re using multiple colors and strands to create a quick and easy beanie.
If you’re looking for something bigger, the Stadium Blanket may be JUST the thing. Keep the bottom half of your body warm AND the top half with the same blanket. Genius!
With the NEW Child sized Sports Team Bucket Hat we are using the Alternating Single Spike Stitch which creates little vertical columns that spikes color into the rows belowย and really makes it pop. The hardest part is deciding which team colors to pick first.
Because we don’t want the hat to stretch and lose its shape, cotton yarn is the best yarn to use. If you are looking for great brands to choose from, check out the cotton section on the worsted weight page of the Virtual Yarn Aisle here. Pick your favorite colors and let’s get started!
