The fourth design to be released in the new Alpine Collection is the Ararat Sweater Vest. If you’ve been wanting to make a stunning, streamlined sweater vest to wear over a button up for business casual, church, or family photos, this is the perfect time. Grab your hook and let’s work up a sweater vest using the free Ararat Sweater Vest pattern, available in sizes S – 5XL!

Ararat Sweater Vest (Alpine Collection)

This sweater vest is made using a mixture of stitches that provides surface texture and stunning play of the light. We use the Alternating Single Crochet Spike Stitch for the main body, and the Alpine Stitch for the chest. I love the way they look like little trees. Gorgeous!

There’s something classy about a sweater vest. They can really snaz up your outfit and they give warmth while not being stifling hot. I also love that with this yarn, Heatherly Sport, the vest has a great drape to it and it doesn’t feel too thick or warm. There is a whole list of similar yarns in the Virtual Yarn Aisle under the size 2 yarn weight.

Here’s my oldest son, Caden, modeling the size large.

And here is my younger son, Cameron, modeling the size medium.

This vest is the perfect thing to wear over a dress shirt. The sizing is a bit larger than normal because we’re keeping room for an undershirt as well as a dress shirt underneath. Check the sizing chart below to decide which size will work best for you.

The Alpine Collection is one that I am very proud of. All five designs are exactly how I hoped they would be and I am so glad that you are loving them too! See the rest of the collection here, including the Everest Poncho, the Kazbek Cardigan, the Matterhorn sweater, and the yet-to-be-released Atlas Hoodie. ✨
