The new year has begun and here at Heart Hook Home we’re furiously working behind the scenes to make sure that 2025 is our BEST year yet! Grab a cup of coffee and let’s discuss all of the awesome things we can look forward to in this unfolding year.

What to Expect in 2025

I just love the beginning of the year. I always feel invigorated to start a fresh new chapter, to turn the page, and to see what all we can get into and what good I can do in my community and in the lives of those around me. On that thread, I am SO excited about everything I have planned, especially the year-long crochet series for 2025.

This coming year is particularly exciting for me because I once again get a full size office and studio where I can spread out and get really creative. After spending several years of what felt like a nomadic life, I became a home owner again this September. Read more on that and see photos here.

With my new home comes a new studio space. The workers are getting close to finishing the stand-alone single car garage in the back of the property and turning it into a pretty awesome studio space. I’ll share all about it when it’s ready but suffice it to say that my creativity is just ITCHING to get things settled and get to work.

New Helper

This year I am bringing on a new part time helper… my mom! My mom (Kathy) has been my biggest cheerleader throughout my life, and these last few years especially. Read more on that here. I know that my mom is happiest and healthiest when she is needed, appreciated, and when she stays busy. As she enters retirement I am finding ways to need her that are meaningful and helpful to us both. ♥

Mom is helping me with behind-the-scenes work like updating item descriptions in pattern listings to include more information such as specific yarn, hook size, and yardage, etc. She will also be updating all of the Heart Hook Home printable PDF files to new formatting. This will make printed patterns easier to read and with the updated format you’ll have the option to print the pattern with photos or without photos. Yes!

New Pattern Collections

Last year, 2024, I decided to release ONLY free crochet patterns with the option to purchase the printable PDF on my Ravelry shop, Etsy shop, and on the Heart Hook Home blog shop. While I am looking forward to continuing posting new free patterns, this year in addition to that I will be trying a new way of offering those patterns – individually or as collections.

For the past few months I have been working on a new set of garment designs using the Alpine Stitch. These patterns I’m working on are absolutely stunning. It has taken me longer to prepare than I’d like, but all of the included designs are gorgeous and sleek, and timelessly stylish. It’s so close to being ready!

The Alpine Collection will be a full collection of FIVE size-inclusive garments (XS through 5XL) including a comfortable hoodie, a fitted sweater, a gorgeous poncho, an open-front cardigan, and a men’s sweater vest. I am using Heatherly Sport for the collection photos, and Brava Sport would work beautifully as well.

Once the collection in its entirety is published, I will begin releasing each of the patterns individually as free patterns here on Heart Hook Home. Stay tuned because I can not wait to reveal this new collection. It shouldn’t be long now!

I hope this way of sharing new patterns is fun and exciting, and gives us all something to look forward to. If we love it, we’ll do it again.

Crochet Series Updates

For the past five years we have done year-long series of themed crochet patterns. In 2020 we did a Cloth Series, in 2021 we did a Household Series, in 2022 we did a Car Series, in 2023 we did a One-Skein Series, and in 2024 we did a Dog Series. All of these have been so much fun!

So what’s the theme for this year? I am excited to announce the 2025 Donation Crochet Series! The NEW crochet series for 2025 will be all about items we can DONATE to organizations and non-profits. This will include items we can donate to homeless shelters, to the NICU at the hospital, to the activities department at the local long-term care facility, and more. I am very excited to delve into all of the ways we can use crochet to better the lives of those around us.

New Series eBooks

Also coming in 2025 — soon each year-long series will have its own eBook. This will make the pattern collections/series more easily digestible and certainly more convenient. Those will be available on the Etsy shop and in the HHH Blog Shop when they are ready which is hopefully very soon.

Make sure you’re on the email newsletter list so that you’re kept up to date on all of the exciting things we’re getting into here at HHH.

I will continue to post my What I’m Walking With videos once the weather warms back up. I’ve been walking and crocheting at the local indoor track and I miss the fresh air.
