Cross Body Bead Bag
This beaded purse pattern is a great opportunity for learning how to add beads to crochet. If you have never incorporated beads into your crochet before, you are in for a treat! Make sure you watch this tutorial so you’re comfortable getting started, then grab your supplies and let’s get to work!
In order to make this purse, you will need one ball of Curio #3 crochet thread (the grey is the “Whisker” colorway, the cream is the “Natural” colorway) and size 6/0 seed beads. The exact beads I used for the grey are the “Magic Copper” mixย and with the cream I used the “Autumn” mix here. I used 3 tubes for the full size purse.
For the credit card wallet I used part of a second ball of Curio #3, and one more tube of beads.
Materials:
Curio #3 Crochet Thread (“Whisker” colorway pictured)
-approx. 1 ball for full size purse
-less than 1 ball for credit card wallet
Crochet hook in size F/3.75mm
Seed Beads 6/0
-3 tubes for full size purse
-1 tube for credit card wallet
(1) Fat Quarter (for both)
(2) 1/2″ D-rings (for attaching purse handles)
9″ Zipper (full size purse, “Nuygrey” pictured)
7″ Zipper (credit card wallet)
When you are finished crocheting your bag/wallet, you will most likely want to add a liner and zipper. There is a FULL tutorial for lining and adding a zipper to your crocheted purses here.
Pattern Notes:
Pattern written using US terms.
For the first few rounds of each (where you do not join at the end of the round) mark the first stitch of each row with a stitch marker.
In pattern, where it simply states “bead” this means to place a single crochet with a bead in that stitch.
