Simple Tunisian Tank Top Pattern
If you are looking for a SIMPLE Tunisian tank top pattern, this is it! And also why I named it the “Simple Tunisian Tank Top”. We use the Tunisian Simple Stitch AND the design itself is super simple. We start at the bottom at the widest point, then decrease every other row alllllll the way until we get to the top of the shoulder. Then we add the v-neck front, seam the shoulders, and add the finishing touches. I LOVE it!
This pattern uses a sport weight cotton yarn called Katia Fair Cotton Diverso. This yarn is great for Tunisian Crochet because it is a bit grippy, meaning that it is easier to keep your tension even and the stitches stay nice and tidy. Depending on what size you need, you’ll need just ONE ball!
If you are trying to stash bust, or would like to use a different yarn, look for a size 2 cotton or cotton blend yarn that works up to a nice fabric when you are able to meet gauge. Other great yarn options would include Comfy Sport from WeCrochet, Lion Brand’s Cotton Bamboo Linen, or Premier Cotton Fair. If you’re outside of the US you could try the Friends 8/6 Cotton or Twister from Hobbii.

Katia Fair Cotton Diverso (Sport weight/Size 2) yarn
-approx. (450, 500, 600, 650, 750, 850, 900) yards
Cabled Tunisian Crochet hook in size 4.5mm or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge: 19 sts and 16 rows in 4” square using Tunisian Simple Stitch

Finishing & Construction:
Block to (37”, 40”, 44.5”, 48”, 52”, 55.5”, 59”) wide and (19.5”, 20.5”, 22”, 22”, 23.5”, 24”, 24.5”) tall.
Cross over the bottom of the tank top with the points overlapping so that the overall width of the tank is (15”, 17”, 19”, 21”, 23”, 25”, 27”) when laid flat. Pin into place using stitch markers, when satisfied with the sizing, use the beginning tail to sew the two fabrics stitch for stitch.
Weave in all ends and seam shoulders shut using either the Mattress Stitch or the Invisible Shoulder Seam Stitch.
Back Chain:
Find the stitch (3) rows up from the armhole row. Attach with sl st.
Ch-(20, 25, 25, 30, 30, 35, 35) and attach in the corresponding stitch (3) rows up from the armhole row on the other side. Weave in all ends and you’re finished!
